Print and PDFs
Every download is one vector PDF in pure black ink (100% K). These articles explain what PRINT CHECK shows before you download, what is inside the file, how to place it on your cover, and how to check the finished cover before it goes to the printer.
What does PRINT CHECK tell me?PRINT CHECK in the Barcode Rocket studio shows your barcode and checks it before download: vector, 100% K black, what it scans as, and the file size you get.
What is in the barcode PDF I download?Every Barcode Rocket download is one vector PDF in black ink only (100% K) at the right size, with a white box where needed and an overprint frame on three labels.
How are the downloaded files named?Barcode Rocket names each PDF after what is inside: the type, the number, the price code and the layout, for example ISBN-9781402894626-51999-barcoderocket.pdf.
Where do I place the barcode on my cover?Place the Barcode Rocket PDF at 100% on the back cover, usually lower right, on white, at least 0.25 in (6.35 mm) inside the trim and spine, never in the bleed.
How do I check a print-ready PDF?Check your cover PDF in Adobe Acrobat under Output Preview, Separations: the barcode must be complete on the Black plate and gone on the other inks.
