Terms of Service

These Terms apply when you use barcoderocket.com ("Barcode Rocket", "we", "us"). By using the site you accept them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. The service

Barcode Rocket turns a number you already own (ISBN, EAN, UPC, GTIN, a link and similar) into a print-ready barcode as a vector PDF. We do not sell ISBNs or GS1 numbers. You can use the site without an account; a free account adds lists, history and more barcode types.

The free plan is for individual use within these limits, including barcodes for your clients' books: authors, designers and freelancers are welcome to use it for their own work and their clients' work. Larger volume and commercial services (batch files for companies, house templates with your logo, the API) are provided by agreement and invoice. Contact us if you need them.

2. Free limits

One at a time: up to 20 barcodes a day without an account, or 20 new barcodes a day with one (downloading again from your history is free).
Lists (free account only): up to 50 numbers in one list and 50 new barcodes in lists in any 7 days, plus any Rocket Pass bonus.
Limits also apply per network, across all accounts on it.
Downloading a barcode you already made again, from your history, is free and does not count.

We may change the limits to keep the service free and fast; the current numbers are always on the home page. At times of high demand, downloads without an account may wait a few seconds.

3. Your account

Give a real, permanent email address. You need it to reset your password.
Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
One person, one account. Do not share, sell or transfer access.
You can stop using the service at any time and ask us to delete your account (see the Privacy Policy).

4. Fair use

Please do not:

use bots, scripts or automated requests against the site or its API routes, other than our connector for AI assistants used as described below, or an API we have agreed with you;
get around the limits, for example with several accounts, changing networks, or invitation links to yourself;
overload, scrape, probe or attack the service, or interfere with other users;
make barcodes for numbers you have no right to use, or to mislead buyers, retailers or printers;
resell the free service as your own barcode service.

AI assistants. You may connect Barcode Rocket to an AI assistant such as Claude (our MCP connector at https://barcoderocket.com/mcp). Barcodes made through it are made on your account, count against the same limits and fall under these terms like any other download. Do not use the connector as an automated backend for another product or service.

If usage breaks these rules or is clearly outside normal use, we may slow it down, refuse requests, withdraw Rocket Pass bonuses, or suspend or close the account.

5. Checking before you print

You are responsible for the numbers you enter (ISBN, GTIN, price, link) and for checking the barcode before it goes to print. Before you can download, we check the number's length, prefix and check digit and show what the barcode scans as. We cannot know whether the number is really yours, whether the price is right, or how your printer will reproduce it. Place the PDF at 100% size, check a printed proof with a scanner, and for retail products use a barcode verifier or ask your local GS1 Member Organization before a large print run.

6. Your content and ours

The numbers you enter and the barcodes you download are yours to use, with no attribution required. We do not keep the PDF files, only the recipe described in the Privacy Policy. The site, its software, design, templates and the Barcode Rocket name remain ours.

7. No warranty

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". Apart from the checks described in section 5, we give no warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability or non-infringement, and we do not promise that the service will always be available or free of errors.

8. Limitation of liability

As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profit, reprinted or spoiled print runs, recalled products or lost data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us for the service in the 12 months before the claim. For the free service that amount is zero. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for intent or gross negligence.

9. Paid services

Services for publishers, printers and agencies (volume, batch files, house templates, API) are agreed in writing, case by case, and billed by invoice. Where such an agreement differs from these Terms, the agreement applies.

10. Changes and ending

We may update these Terms. We change the date at the top, and we announce important changes on the site or by email before they take effect. If you keep using the service afterwards, the new Terms apply. We may stop or change the free service; if we close it, we will try to give account holders notice so they can download their barcodes again first.

11. Your rights as a consumer

Nothing in these Terms limits the mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you live.
